You don’t need to look any further! – I purchased the 26″ Urban Lady single speed in mint green from Beach bikes and I could not be more thrilled with it! ASSEMBLY and SHIPPING: I was a little nervous about assembly but the bike comes partially assembled. All you need is to put on the seat, front handlebars, the front tire, and the pedals. It took about half an hour. The bike came very nicely packaged and without any scratches. Thankfully the breaks and chain are all done, for us non-engineering majors (and people who ride bikes but don’t know much about them like myself). I chose this bike for its overall design but also because you pedal backwards for breaking. I have very small hands which makes breaking with the front grips really uncomfortable cause I would have to ride with my fingers almost fully extended.
QUALITY: The bike is nice and scratch free thanks to good packaging. I got the mint green which I think it like a mix between mint and neon, it is very bright. I think it is true to the picture. After assembling myself it doesn’t squeak and feels sturdy. If you’re nervous there is a (somewhat hilarious) video of how to assemble it which seems very helpful but also funny (one of those videos that seems like it was taken in one shot in someone’s garage, the bike box falls over, you can hear someone struggling to start a car in the back….”) The seat seems easy to adjust for height and feels nicely padded. I don’t feel bumps too much which I like a lot. It’s great for a college student that needs to bike to and from campus every day. I would recommend!
As a side note, I would suggest getting a bike lock that has the extender strap since the wheel can be taken off so easily from the front.
